The subject of ”Alps – Geographies and People” is how the mountain is perceived from the climbers’ point of view – its peaks and precipices, the mirages and hallucinations in its geography. In these images, everything is true. The proportions and the forms are real. Even the people and the position they’re in…those, too, are real. The word Alps derives from the French and Latin Alpes, which at one time was thought to be derived from the Latin albus (”white”). The original meaning may be from ”white” in reference to the permanent snow. The Alps are one of the great mountain range systems of Europe stretching approximately 1,200 km (750 mi) across eight Alpine countries from Austria and Slovenia in the east, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany, France to the west and Italy and Monaco to the south. The mountains were formed over hundreds of millions of years as the African and Eurasian tectonic plates collided. Extreme shortening caused by the event resulted in marine sedimentary rocks rising by thrusting and folding into high mountain peaks such as Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn. Mont Blanc spans the French–Italian border, and at 4,810.45 m (15,782 ft) is the highest mountain in the Alps. The climbers across rocks, chasms  and ”deep sea” seek to discover inner hidden truth in BLANK MAPS geography, ”solid color”.”Solid color” are important because give the possibility to define a fundamental form in a concise way. It is like the selected focus that transform the world in a plastic model, but with the ”solid color” more radically is possible to go back to the ”drawing”, in the case of the mountain, to the original form.
